It has been quite a few years since I have taken the time and wandered into downtown Easton, MD for the annual Waterfowl Festival. It was a beautiful afternoon on Friday, so I grabbed the Nikon and went for a walk on opening day. There were places where I wanted to go, but I had no idea as to what I wanted to capture images of. I did go in with the intention of presenting these images in black and white mode. I only managed to get to two spots on the list, Washington Street in front of the Talbot Co. Court House and The Avalon Theater. As I was leaving The Avalon Theater and starting to head towards the Academy of the Arts, something broke/tore/revolted on the outside of my right foot. After evaluating the situation I decided that going forward was not a very good idea. I took a deep breath, turned around, and started limping back to the car. It’s a shame because it seemed to be a good crowd turnout and everyone looked like they were having a good time.

A resighting of "Sharkmobile" was the perfect way to start the journey. Dottie and I first spotted "Bruce" on Rt 301 on our way to see Hannah and Nate in Lancaster. It was easily recognizable because it's hard to forget.

This was the 54th annual Waterfowl Festival. It is a 3 day celebration of everything related to waterfowl, starting on the second Friday in November. It attracts world class exhibitors in all categories. This is not just an exhibit of amazing work by talented artists in painting sculpture and carving. There are working dog competitions and land/water demonstrations. This year the World Waterfowl Calling Contest was held at the Easton High School, as part of the Waterfowl Festival. Local musicians get to perform during the event. And did I mention the food? Food vendors are set up all over the venues. There is literally something for everyone, but seafood is definitely the most popular. The Waterfowl Festival may be just the thing if you are looking for something different to do and enjoy amazing artwork and good food.
