Happy New Years 2026!

Before we open the new calendar and start the year, it's only fitting to begin with the cover.

Let’s give a cheer to the year that was 2025. Whether it was good, bad, or anything in between, it’s now over and we all got to experience it in our own way. And while New Year’s Day may not feel much different from 2025, we all have our little hopes and dreams for the new year.

It is also the time to close the back cover on the Bugeye Visions 2025 Calendar and put up the new one for 2026. The image featured in this blog is from the cover of the 2026 calendar. I have always viewed the cover image as the “almost right” or as just the thirteenth image. It is always a perfectly good image, but somehow it does not fit in with the other images inside the calendar itself. And really, how much time do you actually spend looking at it? That changed when I saw this image of a Blue Jay. In this image, there is a void of magnolia branches on the bottom right side and that is a distraction to me. It just sucks because I like everything else about this image. So, I decided to put “2026” in the void and it became the perfect image for the cover. And then just like that, we have only so long to enjoy the image and we open the calendar up and start our new year.

So let’s make a toast to the New Year 2026. May everyone be good, have fun, and find love and peace all through the coming year!
